The Minnesota Low Incidence Projects are designed to assist school districts across the state in fulfilling federal requirements in the areas of implementation of the IDEA, professional development and insuring the availability of high quality staff in the low incidence areas of Special Education. Projects Highlights
Congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV)
Congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV) is the most common infectious cause of birth defects in the United States. 1 out of every 200 babies is born with cCMV and 1 out of every 5 babies with cCMV will be born with or develop long-term health concerns. cCMV is the most common cause of nonhereditary hearing loss in childhood.
